The Unemployment Rate in 2018

We have all seen and heard how well the American economy has been moving. The unemployment rate has continued to decline. With that in mind, we wanted to see how Washington, DC, and specifically usually hard-hit areas like Ward 5 and Ward 8, have been faring during this upswing.

Filling the Middle Skills Gap

As the economy continues to rebound after the recession we are starting to see some signs of hope in the sector most impacted by the downturn: Employment. In December 2014 the U.S. Bureau of Labor and Statistics (BLS) reported that the unemployment rate had declined to 5.6% which is the lowest that it has been since June of 2008.
