New Liberia Goodwill Store and Donation Center

WASHINGTON, DC — On Saturday, October 6th at 9:00 AM, Goodwill of Greater Washington [Goodwill] will host a grand opening celebration for its 20th retail store and donation center in at 9769 Liberia Avenue, Manassas, VA. The day will be filled with family fun including a DJ, face painters, a balloon twister, and a snow cone truck as well as a 25% discount on all donated goods. Donations will be accepted starting September 4th. “Goodwill of Greater Washington is proud to be adding our new Liberia Avenue store to our growing retail footprint”, said Brendan Hurley, Goodwill of Greater Washington Chief Marketing Officer. “91 cents out of every dollar we earn goes towards our mission services, so every item donated and sold at our new location will have a positive and measurable impact on our local community.” This store and donation center will allow Goodwill to expand its retail footprint as it aims to provide the residents of the Manassas area not only a place to find quality donated goods at great prices but also donate apparel and household goods that have outgrown their homes, thereby repurposing and further reducing the amount of material sent to our local landfills. In 2017, Goodwill of Greater Washington resold, repurposed or recycled more than 37 million pounds of material goods. The retail store and donation center will also help the local economy by creating approximately 35 new jobs and will help Goodwill’s mission by providing additional funding for its free job training and education programs through the sale of donated goods.
