Goodwill HOST Students Job Shadow with The BEST!
On Friday, April 20th, Goodwill’s hospitality training class (HOST) enjoyed a site visit to the Ritz-Carlton Pentagon City for a day of job shadowing with a staff internationally recognized for its premier customer service. Julie Matos, the hotel’s Director of Training & Development welcomed the Goodwill students who were treated to coffee and tea service before separating to shadow hotel employees throughout the “front and back of the house”. Upon completion of the job shadowing portion of the day, the students were allowed to share what they learned with their classmates and ask questions of other members of the hotel staff.
Matthew Baldwin, Goodwill’s Hospitality Skills Trainer wrote in a thank you email to the Ritz-Carlton Pentagon City Human Resources staff, “…I appreciate your willingness to connect students with managers because the students can begin to formulate mental pictures of what their future success looks like, both in the end and along the journey…You inspired each class member to advance their hospitality careers with greater velocity than before.”
