Goodwill is First Non-Profit Agency to Launch Vintage & Contemporary Fashion Blog!
Washington, DC – As an authority on inexpensive yet quality fashions, Goodwill of Greater Washington officially launched its own fashion blog today, www.dcgoodwillfashions.blogspot.com, which shares detailed knowledge and insight on vintage and contemporary clothing and accessories that are valuable to cost conscious fashion shoppers.
The site’s regular blogger, the DC Goodwill Fashionista will post three blogs per week. Monday’s blog will focus on vintage and contemporary fashion trends. Wednesday’s blog will focus on “Good Buys” of the week, providing real examples of the types of great finds available at Goodwill Retail Stores and budget resale shops; and Thursday’s blog will feature “do it yourself” fashion tips and suggestions. The site will also include regular guest bloggers from the fashion world!
“While Goodwill’s mission is to provide job training and employment services to people with disadvantages and disabilities, Goodwill is best known for its retail stores”, acknowledged Brendan Hurley, Goodwill Vice President of Marketing. “We see great potential in using our core competency to educate and cultivate a growing market segment through an interactive and entertaining technology. The blog has value to fashion and cost conscious shoppers, while fashion and cost conscious shoppers have value to Goodwill!”
All purchases at Goodwill Retail Stores help fund Goodwill’s mission of providing job training and employment services to people with disadvantages and disabilities. By shopping at Goodwill, consumers help themselves and others!
Goodwill of Greater Washington’s mission is to educate, train, employ and place people with disadvantages and disabilities, creating a stronger workforce and a more vital community while building dignity for the people we serve through the removal of barriers to personal success.
