A Graduate’s Ode to Goodwill
Denise Robinson, a recent graduate of Goodwill’s Construction Pre-Apprenticeship Training Program wrote the poem below upon completing the program. She has graciously allowed us to share this poem with our supporters because the reality is that this poem is for you.
First I want to thank God, for putting me in this place where I have some working tools for the industry that I will face. I want to Thank the staff for all that you have done, there were times to be serious and also times to of fun. I am a woman, no longer a little girl. I now have some abilities to now offer the world. I know I will have to deal with attitudes, but I will keep doing whatever there is to do. I want to thank my classmates in helping follow through. There were some problems where I didn’t have a clue. Everyone is special, have their own ways, Just call if you need me, any or everyday. This is a wonderful program look at all I have done. I will never forget where my help came from. I will never forget everything I’ve learned now I feel its time for me to pass it on. I know there is nothing in my mind I could not do, Stay positive and focused. And always follow through.
