Goodwill Graduates its First Women in Construction Class!

On December 8th, Goodwill of Greater Washington graduated its first Women in Construction class at the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), Metro Washington Chapter offices. The program focused on introducing unemployed or underemployed women in Prince George’s County to a booming industry in the nation’s capitol.

Fourteen (14) women completed the program which is designed to provide them with the skills necessary to secure a construction apprenticeship in their area of interest within the construction trade.

Most of the graduates will go on to successful careers in Goodwill would like to thank ABC for their tremendous support of this program. Without them, this unique opportunity wouldn’t exist. ABC provided many of the instructors, the space and a large part of the curriculum. The program was funded by the Washington Area Women’s Foundation.
