A Northern Virginia woman spent years thinking the bonds she was given by her parents when she was born were forever lost.
Without giving it a second thought, she donated an old desk to a Herndon Goodwill store. Shortly after donating it, she was contacted by Goodwill employees who were cleaning out the desk.
They found an old cigar box tucked away inside one of the drawers, stuffed with old bonds worth just under $80,000.
Between March 14th and April 12th Goodwill of Greater Washington and other Goodwills throughout the Mid-Atlantic region will be partnering with AAA Mid-Atlantic on its annual Luggage Trade-In/Trade-Up event.
Throughout the campaign anyone who donates gently used luggage or clothing at participating Goodwill of Greater Washington donation centers will receive a coupon for up to $30 off the purchase of new luggage at participating AAA stores through April 30th, while supplies last.
See the Shop AAA website for more details.
