On Tuesday December 3, Goodwill of Greater Washington will be part of a call to action that will change your holiday calendar and help make history. We are celebrating a day dedicated to giving—when charities, families, businesses, communities, and people like YOU all come together for #GivingTuesday to celebrate generosity and encourage impactful giving during the holiday season.
Our goal is to raise $2,500 on December 3rd. This will equate to 100 hours of free job training for individuals with disabilities and disadvantages in the Washington, DC region.
Before Katrina came to Goodwill she faced numerous hardships in life. When she came across the HOPE (Hospitality Outreach Pathways to Employment) program, she prayed this would give her the opportunity she was seeking to gain employment in a growing industry.
Katrina almost gave up while in class because she was discouraged by a grade that she received on a test, but after a “pep talk” from a HOPE staff member she scored 100% on her next test and was able to graduate in September.
