Keep up with Goodwill of Greater Washington's appearances in local and national media outlets.

On Thursday, June 6, thousands of DC area residents will be supporting their favorite charities for a region-wide, online day of giving called Do More 24. The campaign, organized by the United Way of the National Capital Area, is expected to generate hundreds of thousands of dollars for local causes.

Goodwill of Greater Washington recently piloted a donation campaign called, Kid’s Bins. Goodwill is working with Applebee’s restaurants and the local school systems to place Goodwill donation bins in Applebee’s restaurant parking lots throughout the region. The artwork on the bins is designed by local elementary school students.
The first bin was unveiled on May 18th at the Applebee’s located at 6310 Richmond Highway in Alexandria, Virginia. The artwork was designed by students from nearby Bucknell Elementary School.
Each of the hand prints that make up the trees, sky and grass are those of the students. Inside each hand print is a word or phrase that reflects Goodwill’s mission or brand such as “Donate”, “Help others” or “jobs”.
