Help Kick off our Jobs in ‘12 Campaign with the Walk for Work
Join Goodwill of Greater Washington on January 17th as we kick off our Jobs in ‘12 campaign with the Walk for Work.
Walk for Work was inspired by the success of our “Give to the Max Day” challenge on November 5th. Thanks to your passion for the Goodwill mission and the communities that we serve, Goodwill exceeded its fundraising goal of $5,000, so as promised, the Smiling “G” will take a long walk down K Street.
Therefore, we thought, why not take this opportunity to take the walk to the next level and use it as an effort to raise awareness for the mission of Goodwill and funds to help support Goodwill’s job training and employment programs for people with disabilities and disadvantages.
That’s where you come in! You can participate in Walk for Work in a number of ways. Even if you can’t join us on January 20th, you can be a virtual walker!
- 1. Donate directly to the Walk for Work (A specific contribution or pledge per block?)
- 2. Fundraise as a group by forming a team
- 3. Share the donation link with your friends and family via email, Facebook and Twitter
- 4. Join us the day of the walk and help pass along information about Goodwill and our mission
The walk will start at Union Station and end in Foggy Bottom, with Stephen Kopalchick, Senior Development Officer, dressed as the Smiling “G” leading the way.
Date: Tuesday January 20, 2012
Start Time: 11:30 AM
Meeting location: The Dubliner Pub (Near Union Station)
Every donation will help provide employment and career training services to people with disadvantages and disabilities right here in our community.
Together, we can put our nation’s capital back to work in 2012!
