Goodwill® and ZIPS® Dry Cleaners Renew Partnership on Successful Will2Work Clothing Drive
September Collection to Assist People in Need Trying to Reenter the Workforce
Goodwill® of Greater Washington is pleased to announce that it has renewed its successful partnership with ZIPS® Dry Cleaners on an area wide clothing drive between August 29th and September 30th, 2011.
The Will2Work Clothing Drive will provide disadvantaged adults trying to re-enter the workforce with access to donated suits and professional attire that can be worn on the job or to job interviews.
"Everyone knows the rule. First impressions count," said Brett Vago, Co-Owner and Chairman of ZIPS Dry Cleaners. "This is the least we can do to help those in need put their best foot forward."
Throughout the month of September, each of ZIPS™ 26 stores in the Greater Washington-Baltimore region, as well as the dry cleaning chain's four stores in Pennsylvania, will serve as drop off locations for clothing donations during September. The participating ZIPS locations include:

"One of the biggest barriers to employment for people with a disadvantage is the lack of professional attire to wear to a job interview," said Brendan Hurley, Senior Vice President of Marketing & Communications for Goodwill of Greater Washington."The partnership between ZIPS and Goodwill will give hundreds of people in our community access to the clothing that will help secure and maintain employment."
ZIPS, founded in 1996 and began franchising in 2006, has more than 28 locations on the East Coast. The company offers a fixed price of $1.99 for any garment to be dry cleaned and $1.19 for any shirt to be laundered. ZIPS offers same day service "In by 9 out by 5" with the motto, "We take the sting out of dry cleaning." Furthermore, ZIPS is a cash only business which helps keep the price down for consumers and thus provides a large amount of inventory on a constant basis for the franchise owners (which can average nearly 3,000 garments per day). With less than 10 percent of total costs going towards supplies and inventory, ZIPS is proving that it is a hot investment. For more information, go to www.321zips.com.
