Kenneth “Ken” J. Parker is Senior Vice President, Government Affairs and Corporate Citizenship, of Pepco Holdings, Inc. (PHI), a regional energy holding company that provides utility service to approximately two million customers.
PHI is the parent company of Potomac Electric Power Company, an electric utility serving Washington, D.C., and suburban Maryland; Delmarva Power, an electric and gas utility serving Delaware and the rest of the Delmarva Peninsula; and Atlantic City Electric, an electric utility serving southern New Jersey.
Through his leadership and building strategic relationships with elected officials, regulators, and community leaders, Mr. Parker is responsible for advancing PHI’s critical business goals, such as improving infrastructure and reliability as well as deepening the relationship with the communities we serve.
Mr. Parker, who most recently served as Vice President of PHI Public Policy, began his career in 1986 with PHI’s Atlantic Region in the company’s Landscaping Department. Since then, he has held several management positions within the Atlantic Region, including service building attendant (IBEW Local 210), distribution right-of-way representative, senior government legislative representative, manager of Customer & Community Relations, regional account manager, manager of Government Affairs, regional vice president (ACE Region), and president of PHI’s ACE Region.
Mr. Parker is a 1990 graduate of Delaware State University, where he earned a degree in Early Childhood Education. He has an extensive background and involvement in the federal, state and local governments, and business arenas. He is a former local Board of Education elected official and State Board of Education Member.
Mr. Parker is a graduate of both Leadership New Jersey (1999) and Leadership Greater Washington (2011), and serves on the Advisory Board of Governors of Ford’s Theatre. He has received numerous awards and acknowledgements that reflect his commitment to family, community, and business excellence.
