Between March 14th and April 12th Goodwill of Greater Washington and other Goodwills throughout the Mid-Atlantic region will be partnering with AAA Mid-Atlantic on its annual Luggage Trade-In/Trade-Up event.
Throughout the campaign anyone who donates gently used luggage or clothing at participating Goodwill of Greater Washington donation centers will receive a coupon for up to $30 off the purchase of new luggage at participating AAA stores through April 30th, while supplies last.

This year Goodwill of Greater Washington will be an outreach partner for the 3rd annual ReelAbilities: Greater DC Disabilities Film Festival.
ReelAbilities is the largest film festival in the country dedicated to promoting awareness and appreciation of the lives, stories, and artistic expressions of people with different abilities. The Festival will present award-winning films accompanied by discussions and other engaging programs to bring together the community in exploration, discussion, and celebration of the diversity of our shared human experience.
In 2013 Goodwill of Greater Washington (DC Goodwill) has seen a 19.4% increase in donations of household goods over 2012. December is usually the busiest donation month of the year as donors seek last minute tax deductions, but the month’s donations were still 15% higher than a year ago.
Typically, donations of goods increase when the economy is strong and consumers are purchasing more new goods. Is it possible that the increase in donations is a strong indicator of regional economic stability?
