Seventeen Magazine Names Goodwill as a Hot Spot for Unique Prom Gowns (300 Prom Gowns Recently Donated to Goodwill Now Available.)

In the April issue of Seventeen Magazine, Goodwill's name is dropped twice as being the place to find some unique prom gowns this year. The feature, “Unique – and affordable – Prom Dresses,” suggested young shoppers try Goodwill for both sexy and classic styles, such as those worn by singer/actress Jennifer Lopez and singer/actress Mandy Moore on various red carpets this season. Similar dresses, the article stated, were found at Goodwills throughout the country.

Goodwill of Greater Washington recently received a major donation of 300 prom dresses that are now on sale at its Laurel , Gaithersburg , Northeast DC ( South Dakota Avenue ), Sterling and Manassas , VA stores. Prices range between $20 and $40.

Goodwill Retail Stores are well known for selling classic, vintage merchandise donated to the charity by local communities. About 90% of Goodwill of Greater Washington's merchandise is donated.

All proceeds from the sale of vintage and new merchandise fund Goodwill's job training and employment programs for people with disabilities or disadvantages.

Cherry Blossom Festival

Goodwill of Greater Washington once again provided the cleaning services for this year's 45th Annual Sakura Matsuri Festival. We handed out information on our programs and played fun, interactive games for kids of all ages. We also sold water and juices at the booth and proceeds generated from the sales helped fund our mission of providing job training and placement for the disadvantaged and disabled! Click here to see the photos!  Thanks to all the volunteers who came out that day and braved the rain to help us out!

Taste of Arlington

Goodwill of Greater Washington is proud to provide the cleaning services for this year's 19th Annual Taste of Arlington event on Saturday May 21st from Noon – 5 PM.  Come check out our booth where we will be holding an amazing silent auction with unique items from our stores!  Proceeds from the silent auction will go towards helping fulfill our mission of providing job training and placement for the disadvantaged and disabled.
