Where To Donate

Public donations are the lifeblood of Goodwill's retail operation. We accept gently used clothing, furniture, housewares, working electronics and many other items, then resell them to help fund our employment, job training and placement services for people with disabilities and disadvantages. But there are some items we can't accept because they are in disrepair or simply have no resale value. Whenever you donate something that we can't sell or recycle in some other way, we have to throw it away. That costs money -- money we could have used to help others get jobs. So thank you for donating to Goodwill, and thanks for checking our Donation Guidelines list for items we can't accept. You may take your donations to the nearest Attended Donation Center listed below. (Please note: We do not accept disassembled fitness equipment or furniture.) Home Pickups

Goodwill of Greater Washington provides a free pickup service on a very limited basis. Due to the high transportation costs in the Washington, DC metro area, we kindly request that your donation be in the range of two rooms of furniture (10 or more pieces of assembled, unbroken and not severely damaged, stained or marked furniture) or the equivalent of a small truck load of household goods (12 or more large bags of clean, unstained clothing). All pickups by Goodwill of Greater Washington must be within the Goodwill of Greater Washington service area (Alexandria, Arlington, Annandale, Aspen Hill, Bethesda, Burke,  Chevy chase, Colesville, Crystal City, Dansville, Fairfax City, Falls Church, Fran conia, Gaithersburg, Glenmont, Germantown, Herndon, Lincoln Park, McLean, Montgomery Village, Newington, Olney, Oakton, Potomac, Rockville, Rosslyn, Reston, Silver Spring, Springfield, Sterling, Sterling Park, Tyson's Corner, Wheaton, White Oak and, Washington DC). We apologize if this causes you any inconvenience. Please contact customer service at (202) 715-2633, if you meet the requirements and would like a home pickup.

Additionally, we ask that you allow up to two to three weeks for a home pickup.
