We are often asked – what is Goodwill’s purpose? The easy answer is contained in our mission statement: Goodwill transforms lives and communities through the power of education and employment. However, as with most mission statements, this only scratches the surface of what we really accomplish at Goodwill of Greater Washington.

We could wax on – at great length – about our workforce development programs, or on how so many of your neighbors are productive, contributing members of our community thanks to our free job training programs and placement services. And, of course, we could describe, in great detail, how essential your generous donations are and the revenue generated through our retail stores helps to accomplish these vital transformations.

But, we thought it would be much easier to walk you through our mission through the faces of Goodwill…

If you could walk in someone else’s shoes for just one day, would you help them?
