Catherine Meloy
President and CEO


Catherine Meloy is the President and CEO of Goodwill of Greater Washington. She was selected July 29, 2003 by the Goodwill Board of Trustees as a proven business leader who can dramatically extend the reach and vitality of the organization and enable it to serve an even broader segment of the disabled and disadvantaged population.

Prior to joining Goodwill of Greater Washington, Catherine was the Senior Vice President of Sales of Clear Channel Communications, Inc., and General Manager of WASH-FM and WBIG, BIG 100. Her management of the launch of BIG 100 in June 1993 was instrumental in its growth to one of the market's top stations.

Catherine was also the General Manager of WGMS 103.5, Washington's Classical Station from 1990 through 1997. During her management, the station achieved record ratings and revenues and was awarded the 1996 Marconi for Best Classical Station by the National Association of Broadcasters. In 1998, BIG 100 received this same coveted award for the “Best Oldies Station in the Country”. In 1993, she managed the conversion of the WGMS-AM signal to WTEM-Sports.

Catherine's involvement in the greater Washington commercial sector includes: member of the Board of the Directors, Greater Washington Board of Trade, member of the Federal City Council, member of the DC Chamber of Commerce and the Maryland Chamber of Commerce. In 2000, she received the Greater Washington Board of Trade's “Leader of the Years Award” and in 2001 was honored by Washingtonian Magazine as “Washingtonian of the Year”.

Catherine also serves on the Boards of Directors for Goodwill Industries International, The Non-Profit Roundtable and Med Star Health. In June of 2005, Catherine was named the Chair of Strathmore Hall Arts Center Board of Directors.

Catherine's favorite recreational activity is sailing with her family. She and her husband, David, who is President of Merit Hotels, live in Annapolis.
